I am glad to announce that Sims3xD is coming back strong with a new website admin. I will be taking over from now on. You might have experienced a language change, as the website is now going to be in English. It should automatically translate for you. Yannick has lost interest in Sims, so he lent the website over to me, and I am so excited to begin. You will probably notice some changes to the website, and hopefully you will like them. You will probably notice more house posts, specifically from me.

I am a 17 year old student with a specific interest in architecture, and that is why I love playing The Sims. Just because I am 17 doesn’t mean that I don’t have experience, as I have played pretty much all of the sims games starting with the original Sim City. I

The Sims 3 does work on Windows 8 although EA has not added support for the OS. It runs but you need to run it in Windows 7 Compatibility Mode. This video shows The Sims 3 running without and with Windows 7 Compatibility Mode.

Main Menu: The game does load but you will receive 2 warnings. One says that the video card is recognized and the other shows unknown hardware. You will notice that the time is displayed in 24-hour format instead of 12-hour format.

Options: Every option is set to their min value or disabled. High Detail Lots is missing a slider and Max. Recording Time is blank. Most settings are not saved even if I clicked on the check. When a town is loaded, the days on the aging settings show 0 days.

Gameplay: The Sim’s age is filled up as if a Sim is ready to age. On Map View, the background turns black.

Create a Household: I had not encountered a glitch in CAS/CAH.

Windows 8 (With Compatibility Mode)
The game seems to run normally. Every option is set correctly and the time is displayed in 12-hour format. The Sims’ age bar is shown correctly and there is no black background in Map View. The game seems to run the same as it did when I ran it on Windows 7 Professional.

The Sims 3: Supernatural gives franchise fans a chance to play as bizarre and legendary creatures who have more recently invaded pop-culture. Last time we spoke with EA about Supernatural we got the latest details on what it’s like to play as a werewolf. This time, we present new information, along with quotes directly from Assistant Producer, Argus Hulin, on how fairy and zombie gameplay works.

Like werewolves, you can go into Create a Sim and make a fairy right from the start. Here you can determine everything from your fairy’s skin tone to their ear and wing shape. And if you decide not to make your sim a fairy but later decide you’d really love to get some of those sweet wings, EA assures there’s a way to do that through gameplay.

Open de app op je iOS apparaat, en je krijgt een melding dat er een nieuwe update beschikbaar is, en je kan ook gewoon naar de app Store gaan, naar Theme park toe gaan, en klikken op ‘Update’. Ik geloof dat er nieuwe actracties enz. worden toegevoegd met deze update, ik heb de nieuwste versie al gespeeld op mijn iPad 2.

Orange Fairy wings? Yes please.

When it came down to selecting which supernatural I wanted to work on, there really was no contest. As you all probably know, fairies are brand new to The Sims. I mean sure, werewolves and witches are definitely awesome, but being able to introduce fairies into the game opens a whole new world of opportunity. The chance to create something truly unique and fun for the players is what I was most excited about.

Right after you install The Sims 3 Supernatural, you jump in and Create A Sim to your liking. From here, you can select a fairy and begin customizing it by selecting your wing type and color. Want some pointy ears on your fairy along with a nice, golden skin tone? You can make that happen! Maybe you don’t want to start from scratch. Instead, maybe you want to use one of your favorite Sims that you’ve been playing for some time now. Don’t fret, we planned for that and implemented new ways that you can transform your Sim into a fairy through gameplay.

From the get-go, we knew fairies had to be mischievous. I mean, c’mon, it’s in their nature! We plotted and schemed on how to go about tricking Sims unbeknownst. Through legend, lore, and a bit of creativity from our design team, we found a great combination of distracting gestures combined with fairy magic and fairy traps to keep Sims on their toes. The outcome means that fairies have an entire repository of tricks and traps that they can go through. They must be careful though; some Sims may appear to be oblivious, but instead are privy to exactly what is going to happen. If this is the case, that fairy may just end up getting a taste of their own medicine. Some great examples of fairy tricks and traps are Skivvies, where a fairy can trick another Sim into changing into their own sleepwear, or Inner Beauty, where a fairy uses a little fairy dust to transform a Sim’s appearance and test their true character. Don’t worry though, the results aren’t permanent… that is, if your Sim proves that they have a kind heart.

After we took care of the whimsical, we wanted to move onto the beneficial. Think of a fairy godmother type of role that is able to make other Sims feel better or excel at certain things. For those of you that like to start new families, but don’t like to grind skills all day long, you will definitely want to add a fairy into the mix. Fairies are able to generate unique auras that will affect the fairy and surrounding Sims in different ways such as boosting their moods with the Aura of Soothing or increasing their musical skill gains with the Aura of Creativity. With their auras on, you’ll quickly realize that these aren’t the little sprites you heard stories about when you were younger, they are better!

With tricks, traps and auras aside, fairies still have a plethora of unique ways to interact with Sims and the world around them. For example, a fairy can Playfully Pester another Sim or Play Tag with a werewolf they’ve befriended. We also created several new objects including a Fairy House where fairies can go to satisfy some of their more everyday needs. If your fairy needs to relax or just cut loose, you can always throw a Fairy House Party inside with some of your friends.

The more fairies harness their Powers of the Fae, the more they increase which in turn enhances their current abilities while also unlocking new ones. For example, have you ever been fixing something and dropped a key component into a super tight space that you just can’t seem to reach? You find yourself wishing, “If only my hand or arm were a little bit smaller, I could reach it!” Well wish no more, because as you level up, you’ll be able to unlock Fairy Repairs which allow you to shrink down and repair broken objects. Plant some fairy traps, play some fairy tricks, help out some nearby Sims with a fairy aura, and get rewarded with some cool new interactions? I’ll take it!

Although fairies increase in their power, it is not limitless and does come with a cost. Fairies have a magic meter that they must maintain in order to continuously use their abilities. Once depleted, it doesn’t stay gone forever. Their power will slowly regenerate over time or they can instantly replenish their magic through the use of an alchemy elixir. Fairies can also regenerate their power at a faster rate by transforming into their true form and performing many of their unique interactions.
Now that you have gotten the scoop on fairies, let’s go to the other side of the spectrum to talk about our fun loving, plant hating, life-challenged friends – the zombies!

Zombies – What are they, why are they here, and why do they want my Cerebrum?

As many know, zombies have a constant craving for brains. I hear in some places it’s a delicacy, but as far as zombies are concerned, it’s the only thing on the menu. They also seem to have an undying fondness for shredding plants down to their very last fiber. I think this goes hand in hand with their enmity towards the living. They might appear to be a bit rigid, but have no fear; in most cases the rigor mortis is only temporary. At times, zombies have even been found to ignore their rigidity altogether and break into a full out sprint. It should also be noted that there have been sightings of zombies congregating in large groups and acting a fool as if it were 1982 all over again. Although they may not appear to be the most sociable at first glance, they can still perform most day to day tasks and hardly let their decay slow them down in their afterlife.

Zombies can come about in many different ways. If you happen to be an aspiring alchemist, you can concoct a special brew to either transform yourself or a different Sim into one of these members of the undead. Perhaps you are a wily witch and would rather utilize your superior spell casting to summon one of these ghastly ghouls. You need only find a tombstone or an urn to perform a high level spell and BEHOLD… a mutated malevolent menace will emerge on your manor. Last but not least, the third way to encounter a zombie is patience. When the moon is full in the night’s sky, you may want to batten down the hatches and fortify your gardens. Zombies are quite fond of the basking in the moonlight and have been found to crawl up from the earth in an attempt to tan their pale, undead flesh.

There are several ways you can ditch these dreadful drudges. The first, and probably the most amazing way, is to defend your home with the Plants vs. Zombies’ Peashooter. Put a couple of these guys up and you won’t have to worry about your home or your garden. They prove as a great first line of defense! The Plants vs. Zombies Peashooter comes only in the Limited Edition version of the game, which is available through pre-order only. However, the second way is to save them from their curse is by using a Cure or Potent Cure Elixir. This will effectively cure them of their craving so they can be satiated by a more acceptable means. The third way is by using just a dash of Fairy Dust; it’s really potent stuff and should be used sparingly. If too much is used, who knows what the effects might be!? As you can see, there are many ways to banish these unwanted zombies in one way, shape, or form, but there are even a few more “extreme measures” that can be taken as well. We’ll let you use your imagination on those though.

As you can see, there is much to do when dealing with fairies and zombies alike. It was a blast working on fairies and I hope you enjoy all of the new supernaturals that we are offering in this upcoming expansion pack. In de update van vandaag onthullen we drie nieuwe screenshots. Verder nemen we het onwaarschijnlijke duo van de fladderende fee en de strompelende zombie uit De Sims 3 Bovennatuurlijk onder de loep.

Feeën zijn wispelturige bovennatuurlijke wezens met toverkrachten en een aangeboren verbintenis met de natuur. Spelers kunnen feeën creëren in het menu ‘Sim creëren’. Hier zijn talloze nieuwe opties beschikbaar om de feeën op hun eigen unieke manier vorm te geven. Zo kunnen de vorm en kleur van hun vleugels en de spitsheid gekozen, om maar wat te noemen. Feeën geven regelmatig cadeaus aan anderen en dragen speciale aura’s met zich mee, waardoor hun eigen vaardigheden en de vaardigheden van Sims om hen heen zich sneller ontwikkelen.

De nieuwe grommende en strompelende zombies staan in De Sims 3 Bovennatuurlijk in scherp contrast met de vederlichte springerige feeën. Deze logge wezens denken maar aan twee dingen: hersens en graan! Terwijl ze door de buurt strompelen, doen zombies hun best om hun tanden in wat Sims of hun goed onderhouden plantenbakken te zetten. Zelfs de bovennatuurlijke Sims zijn niet veilig voor zombies, want iedereen kan in een zombie worden getransformeerd! Een beet van een van deze naar hersens hunkerende wezens kan je Sim opzadelen met tijdelijke of langdurige effecten. 

Het is niet mogelijk om zombies te maken via ‘Sim creëren’, maar spelers kunnen toch op allerlei verschillende manieren in aanraking komen met zombies. Sims moeten dus altijd en overal op hun hoede zijn voor een aanval van zombies. We willen nu nog niet onthullen wat al deze verschillende manieren precies zijn, dus we geven je een paar kleine hints voor dingen waar je als speler alert op moet zijn:

1.    Een Sim kan met behulp van het alchemielab een zombiemiddel brouwen en naar een andere Sim gooien

2.    Of een Sim kan door een ronddwalende zombie gebeten worden

Maak je niet druk als je Sim een zombiemiddel krijgt toegediend, want er is hoop op genezing. Verzamel de juiste ingrediënten om een elixer te brouwen waarmee je je Sim weer kunt genezen.

Zet wat Plants vs. Zombies Erwtenschieters (Peashooters) neer om te voorkomen dat zombies de aanval in kunnen zetten. De nieuwe Erwtenschieter is een voorwerp dat bij de Limited Edition hoort. De Limited Edition is verkrijgbaar voor spelers die de game reserveren. Bovenop de Plants vs. ZombiesErwtenschieter bevat de Limited Edition van De Sims 3 Bovennatuurlijk ook enge maar stijlvolle kledingstukken uit de wereld van Plants vs. Zombies.

This is my first upload and animation, but it works! Modified .jazz files for TV and Stereo have been included in the .package so that the pushup animations will be performed in the normal workout routines. There are separate animations for children, teens, and adults. The animation for teens is the same as the adult, except that there is a built in off-set, so that the teens hands and feet don’t go below ground level. The child animation is especially cute, in my opinion, but I am biased. (^_^)

We have discovered an issue that can occur when uninstalling Lucky Palms. If you uninstall Lucky Palms an error can occur that causes the launcher to crash on start-up.

We are working on a fix for this issue. In the meantime, if you plan to uninstall Lucky Palms please remove the World and be sure to uninstall the Heavenly Bells Slanted Columns individually via the Launcher (see steps below)

If you have uninstalled Lucky Palms and you are encountering a crash please delete the DCCache folder found here: Electronic Arts\The Sims 3
This will remove all installed content, but it will resolve the crash and you will be able to reinstall content via the launcher.

To uninstall Lucky Palms:

1. Got to the Installed Content tab in the Launcher.

2. Search for the Heavenly Bells Slanted Column and select these assets – there are 3 – individually in the Launcher.

3. Find and select the check box for the Lucky Palms world as seen below.

4. Select the Uninstall button and wait for the uninstall success confirmation dialogue.

Tell us more about the Lunar Cycle. Is it customizable? 
In The Sims 3 Supernatural we wanted to bring in a new element of gameplay that would affect both ordinary Sims and supernatural Sims. Playing into the theme of magic, mystery and mischief, we thought that a luminous Lunar Cycle could set the stage for some strange happenings that go bump in the night. Of course, none of The Sims games would be complete without the option of customization, so the team created a new tab specific to the Lunar Cycle to allow for more player customization. In The Sims 3 Supernatural you can set your Lunar Cycle to rotate through the different phases of the moon, which can last anywhere from two days to ten days. If you wish, you can even choose to have the moon stay static. For instance, if you wish to have a full moon every night, you can do so by selecting the static option. The same works for any of the other moon phases.

Can regular Sims adopt Supernatural children?
No, Sims will not be able to adopt supernatural children but players will be able to create supernatural children directly from CAS.

The fix for the Showtime performers using Late Night lots appears to go even further:

• Graveyards, Fishing Spots, and Beaches work as a park gig.
• Pool, Gym, Library as well as Dive Bars work as Bistro Gigs (Coffeehouse is what it’s called in game I think).
• Hangouts and the LN Dance Clubs work as Live Venue Gigs.
• Art Gallery, LN Lounges, and the Horse Ranch work as Private Venue Gigs.

Tuning files for the Premium store items have been added to the package. There’s the existing ones and two unreleased:
 Vending Machine, which comes in flavors Candy, Health, and Drink and offers the interactions Buy to eat later, Restock, Kick, Buy to eat. Items has a chance to get stuck.
 A ceremonial tea set, which comes with a hidden skill.

Om deze update te installeren, moet je je game opstarten en het tabblad ‘Updates’ in het Startprogramma gebruiken.

Deze update voor de game bevat de volgende wijzigingen:

Showtime

• Er is een crash verholpen die optrad wanneer de ‘Data Execution Prevention’ (voorkoming van gegevensverlies) aan stond.
• Er zijn nu collecties beschikbaar.
• Sims zullen in ‘Sim creëren’ geen groene tint meer hebben.
• Relaties zullen niet op negatieve wijze beïnvloed worden wanneer er niet wordt gereageerd op verzoekjes uit het publiek tijdens een optreden op een podium.
• Showlocaties uit Showtime zijn toegankelijk als nachtclubs.
• De Muurzicht XXXXL Televisieset zal nu de juiste effecten afspelen.
• De stabiliteit online voor SimPort en prestaties is verbeterd.
• Locaties in Showtime kunnen nu optredens ontvangen wanneer de juiste podiumvoorwerpen geplaatst zijn.
• De stabiliteit van de game is verbeterd.

Algemene updates

Updates van de Store

• Extra ondersteuning voor aankopen uit Storesets, die in de game worden uitgelicht.
• Het BauHaus Hek zal nu op de juiste manier geïnstalleerd worden.
• De stabiliteit van het Startprogramma na het installeren van gebundelde voorwerpen is verbeterd.
• Er is een probleem opgelost met een bepaalde jurk die gedownload kon worden voor ‘Sim creëren’ en die het been van een Sim liet verdwijnen.
• De prestaties voor uitgelichte voorwerpen uit de Store zijn in Kopen verbeterd.

Voordat je een update voor De Sims 3, een uitbreidingspakket of een accessoirespakket gaat downloaden, is het slim om eerst de volgende checklist door te nemen. Zo kun je ervoor zorgen dat je game soepel blijft draaien.

Stap 1: Aangepast materiaal uitschakelen
Onder aangepast materiaal verstaan we al het De Sims-materiaal dat niet afkomstig is uit een officiële update voor De Sims 3, De Sims 3 Store, een uitbreidingspakket of een accessoirespakket. Aangepast materiaal wordt gecreëerd door externe partijen die niet onder toezicht staan van Electronic Arts of het Team van Ontwikkelaars van De Sims 3. Het kan gebeuren dat dit materiaal niet werkt met nieuwe updates. Door aangepast materiaal kan de game onvoorspelbaar reageren, of niet naar behoren functioneren.
Om het aangepaste materiaal uit te schakelen, moet je de stappen die je genomen hebt om dit materiaal te installeren ongedaan maken, tot je game zich weer in een onaangepaste staat bevindt. Verplaats het materiaal als je het in een Sims 3 directorymap hebt geplaatst naar een nieuwe map, die zich niet in de bestandendirectory van De Sims 3 bevindt. Jouw De Sims 3 bestandendirectory vind je door de paden hieronder te volgen:
Windows bestandendirectory: C:\Documenten en instellingen\GEBRUIKER\Mijn documenten\Electronic Arts\De Sims 3
Mac bestandendirectory: Gebruiker/Documenten/Electronic Arts/De Sims 3
Na het installeren van de officiële update, kun je het aangepaste materiaal weer instellen. Mochten er hierdoor problemen ontstaan, dan kun je het materiaal het beste uitschakelen tot de externe partij het materiaal bijgewerkt heeft, zodat het weer gebruikt kan worden in combinatie met de officiële updates, uitbreidingspakketten of accessoirespakketten.

Stap 2: Een back-up maken van opgeslagen games
Het is altijd een goede voorzorgsmaatregel om een back-up te maken van je opgeslagen spelgegevens, voor je een nieuw uitbreidingspakket, update of accessoirespakket gaat installeren. Dit doe je door de “.sims3”-mappen naar je Bureaublad of een andere directory met bestanden te kopiëren. Je vindt deze mappen in de map met opgeslagen spelbestanden.
Je map met opgeslagen spelbestanden van De Sims 3 vind je door de paden hieronder te volgen:
Windows bestanddirectory: \Mijn documenten\Electronic Arts\De Sims 3\Opgeslagen spellen
Mac bestandendirectory: Gebruiker/Documenten/Electronic Arts/De Sims 3/Opgeslagen spellen
Nadat de Update geïnstalleerd is, kun je de game laten draaien om te kijken of je opgeslagen spellen nog steeds naar behoren functioneren.

Stap 3: De update volledig uitvoeren
Updates kunnen soms behoorlijk omvangrijk zijn. Hierdoor kan het downloaden en installeren een tijdje duren. Door de update te annuleren voor deze volledig is uitgevoerd, kunnen er onverwachte problemen optreden. Om deze reden is het altijd het beste om af te wachten tot de update volledig is uitgevoerd. Sluit het Startprogramma niet af tot je bevestigd hebt dat de update volledig geïnstalleerd is, anders wordt de update geannuleerd.

Going along with our grouping theme, we’ve selected three new topics to dive into and shed some light on what you can expect in The Sims 3 Supernatural. Below you’ll find the next set of your hot questions, answered!

We’ll be wrapping up this forum thread by the end of this week in our final posting. 1. Can pets be supernaturals?
Zombie dogs or fairy kittens could make for a whole game itself! In The Sims 3 Supernatural, pets that you’ve created using The Sims 3 Pets will not take on supernatural abilities. However, witches that own a cat or one of the other “small animals” will gain special benefits such as having an increased skill with the wand, having an increased mood and having a slower drain on magic.

2. Can pets turn into zombies?
No, pets do not turn into zombies.

3. What’s new for ordinary Sims?
There are lots of new things for ordinary Sims to discover in The Sims 3 Supernatural. For instance, there are new traits to choose from such as ‘Supernatural Skeptic’ or ‘Supernatural Fan’ which will sway your Sims one way or another to either get along with supernatural Sims or want to steer clear of them. These traits create humorous new storylines that are fun to watch as your Sims fully embrace the unknown or try to ward them off.

In addition, ordinary Sims will have new interactions to choose from. Two of my favorites are ‘Ask to Protect’ or ‘Promise to Protect’ which allows Sims to lean on their fellow neighbors in case of an unwanted encounter with a supernatural Sim. I find these interactions fun additions to the game that enable you to create more dynamic relationships and tell more intriguing stories.

We have tons of new CAS clothing, build/buy objects and specialty items that can all be enjoyed by ordinary Sims. Sims can build their experience in alchemy by brewing a range of elixirs that have numerous effects. Ordinary Sims can also venture into a new career as a fortune teller or take a visit to the Traveler’s Wagon to have their fortune read.

Additionally ordinary Sims will live in the new town of Moonlight Falls with a rich landscape, mysterious new venues and a surprising new Lunar Cycle that will cause a stir in town and have strange effects on ordinary Sims with the onset of the full moon.

4. Can supernatural Sims have babies? If so, what will it be? 
Your supernatural Sims are certainly able to create children! Whether it’s a relationship between two of the same supernatural Sims, two differing supernatural Sims or a supernatural Sim and an ordinary Sim, they will be able to start a family and have a baby.

The genetic system in The Sims 3 Supernatural works the same way as in The Sims 3 base game. The offspring of two of the same supernatural Sims will have a very high chance of inheriting the looks and traits of that supernatural type. The offspring of two differing supernatural Sims will have a chance of taking on the looks and abilities from one side of the family. The same goes for the offspring of supernatural Sims and ordinary Sims. The offspring will either have the looks and traits of the supernatural parent or of the ordinary parent.

All the above possibilities introduce new and compelling storylines to experience, making things around home a bit more mystical!
